Few people alive today hold as much history and continue to have as much impact on our community of food than Lindsey Shere. Born in Chicago, her family came West, where she was raised on a 500-acre ranch in Healdsburg that included a stretch of the Russian River. In the kitchen from an early age, she later went on to work as pastry chef of Chez Panisse for some (26) years, co-founded Healdsburg’s Downtown Bakery and Creamery, produced both editions of Chez Panisse Desserts, and was part of the legendary Bakers Dozen. 
This week our guest is writer and photographer Yvonne Michie Horn who makes her home here in Sonoma County, where her family has lived for three generations. She’s written for Bon Appetit, Golf Digest, Quarterly Review of Wines, and metropolitan newspapers across the United States, including the Los Angeles Times and San Francisco Chronicle. Her latest book Unique Eats and Eateries of Sonoma County: The People and Stories Behind the Food is what brings her to Savoring Sonoma. And Savor we do!

Brian Sullivan who, with his wife Gayle Okumura Sullivan and their son Patrick, steward the County’s last and only fully organic commercial peach orchard, thoughtfully tending, harvesting and selling some of the most celebrated stone fruit anywhere. Brian joins host Clark Wolf for a metaphorical walk among the trees of Dry Creek Peach to talk about the many varieties, the history, the farm stand and the extraordinarily talented and hardworking people who make it all deliciously possible, year after year.
Betsy Fischer has been a powerhouse fixture in food, farming, hospitality, and education in Sonoma County for decades. These days, she’s Chair of the Culinary Programs at Santa Rosa Junior College and, as that great American poet Lizzo would say, “it’s about damn time!”
