David Best, at Paradise Ridge Winery. Best is most recognized for the design and production of elaborate, provocative temples, many made specifically for Burning Man where they are ignited during the finale as an emotional and spiritual release.
Best’s storytelling encourages inquiry, good laughs, and insightful exchange. Come see visuals of his work, including award winning Esperanza, the beautiful and beckoning arch at Franklin Avenue Light Rail Station, which serves as a beacon for the South Sacramento community. He will also provide a preview of his newest commission for the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C.
Prior to his talk, guests are encouraged to visit Temple of Remembrance, his first such work created entirely from steel, located in The Meadow at Paradise Ridge. This work was fabricated on the Voigt property in Geyserville as part of the Artist in Residence Program. This well-known sculpture is permanently accessible for view and interaction.
Tickets include Sonoma County wine with appetizers provided by WOW (Worth Our Weight), a youth culinary training program.
