acres in Cotati, Bird Rescue Center reached a major milestone in ourrelocation efforts, but in order to break ground on this wonderful new property— and build our new Avian Hospital and Raptor Program facilities — we mustfirst raise at least $600,000! Join usin this effort and help save wild birds in the North Bay.
We have the place, but we still need to build a new facilityfrom the ground up – which in this post-fire era is more costly than ever. Wehave set a goal of raising at least $600,000 by the end of 2019 in order tobegin this project. This amount is expected to cover design, engineering, permits, and hopefully the foundation.
Solid, ongoing financial support from the Community isessential.
Your donations will help ensure that the 3,000+ birds wehandle each and every year continue to receive the best possible care. You willalso be supporting our 16 Resident Ambassador birds and our Community Educationprograms, which reached more than 47,000 children and adults last year withimportant lessons about climate change, our local environment, and cohabitingwith native wild birds. We have one of the few Junior Volunteer programs in theCounty, and your financial support can help make sure that resource remainsavailable to children between the ages of 13 and 18.
In addition to financial support, we are looking forpartners with experience and skills in the construction industry, and sourcesfor building materials, appliances, cabinets and countertops, and all of theother things that will be necessary to complete our new hospital and educationfacilities. We love donations, but also greatly appreciate discounts andin-kind donations!
Local architects Daniel J. Strening and Ken Coker aregenerously donating their talents for the design of our new Center. Inaddition, we have received offers for some concrete work, and for door locksand closures. While a promising start — there is still a lot more we need.
