Plus, frontman Gary Louris joins host Raina Douris to talk about how The Jayhawks shook up their songwriting process after 30-plus years together, and they’ll dig into some of Gary’s exciting collaborations with other artists, including the newly renamed trio, The Chicks – who you might know better as The Dixie Chicks. The brand-new band Muzz formed after just one rehearsal. It’s the collaboration of three old friends: Paul Banks of Interpol, Matt Barrick of the Walkmen, and Bonny Light Horseman’s Josh Kaufman. Paul Beaubrun was born into the legendary musical family behind Boukman Eksperyans, one of Haiti's most famous bands. But he’s also made a name for himself as a solo artist in North America, thanks in part to collaborations with artists including Jackson Browne, Jenny Lewis, and Arcade Fire. Paul’s music is steeped in the sounds of rock and reggae and punctuated with Haitian drums and rhythms. Today, we’ll hear songs from his latest album, Rasanbleman, performed live.
