At age 19, Lido Pimienta moved from Colombia to Canada to pursue her artistic career – And she still has complicated feelings about the country she grew up in. She explores these feelings in her new album, Miss Colombia, which has been nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 2020 Grammys. The New Zealand born singer now lives in the United States, and her debut album Distance is reflective of how her life has changed since leaving her home country.
