The Chicks recently returned with their first album in 14 years, called Gaslighter. Formerly known as The Dixie Chicks, the country trio shares the details behind the band’s name change today, and we’ll hear about the making of their new record, including working with Jack Antonoff and St. Vincent. Ivan Neville comes from one of New Orleans’ famous musical families – He’s the son of Aaron Neville and has played keyboards on recordings by The Rolling Stones, Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt, and Robbie Robertson. Ivan also fronts his own band, Dumpstaphunk, who have a new album out soon, called Where Do We Go From Here. We’ll hear his conversation with New Orleans correspondent Gwen Thompkins today, plus Dumpstaphunk’s performance recorded live on stage at Tipitina’s. That’s coming up, on the next World Cafe.

And on the new album Greenfields, he showcases a selection of their catalogue in a whole new way, with help from some of the biggest voices in Americana music – like Miranda Lambert and Jason Isbell – as well as Nashville producer Dave Cobb.
