Food insecurity has leapt to the forefront for communities in Northern California and across the nation, due to a perfect storm of factors including the recent federal government shutdown and Congress voting to slash food assistance benefits and health care coverage to millions of Americans. United Way of the Wine Country operates 211 – a resource hub to help people find their next meal, as well as an array of other support services.
