California Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero joined Sonoma County judges and court leaders to commemorate the completion of the new Hall of Justice in Santa Rosa. The six-story, 15-courtroom facility will replace aging court spaces and provide expanded services, improved security, and modern accommodations for jurors, attorneys, and the public. The courthouse is expected to open for business later this summer and represents one of California's ongoing investments in modernizing judicial facilities statewide.
Hayley Blondin, a bilingual multiple-subjects teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School, has been named the Sonoma County Teacher of the Year for 2026. She was recognized at an all-school celebration, alongside Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Amie Carter. Blondin is praised for building strong one-on-one relationships and leading schoolwide events that foster student engagement, belonging, and confidence—including applying Science of Reading strategies to help students improve.
