Blueberries are one of those fruits that are just so handy. You know, you rinse them off and you put them in a bowl and you just kind of pop them in your mouth while you're watching something that you've been streaming or catching up on the news or returning emails or just, I don't know, lying around.
They are not available all year and sometimes in the late spring in early summer, there's kind of the same pause, the transitional blueberry period I like to call it, where they're just not quite right. I'm one of those people who likes a slightly tart firm blueberry. I have a neighbor who likes them slightly squishy, and so I bring him some slightly squishy leftovers, some lan yap of blueberry. The rest I put in the freezer and share with friends to go in a muffin.
But blueberries are just exquisite and wonderful And easy to dance to, freeze them and have little tiny popsicles. And just like french fries, sometimes there's a week or two where they're not quite right. Savoring Sonoma, I'm Clark Wolf for KRCB.
