They look like little sponges sometimes. They look like little, I don't know, new age condominiums. They are morels. And they are a mushroom that is delicious and meaty and tender and dear if you find them, if you know what you're looking for. And they are nomads. So many other wild mushrooms pop up again in the same spot next year so you could learn where those chanterelle are going to be.
You can learn where those shiitake where they found a log that was crumbling and grew on the side of that where the pleurotus, the oyster mushrooms were popping up year after year, but morels, their spores go into the air, and next year there's some place else.
