I hear asparagus

Can you hear it? Can you see it? Yes, right now, out there. Asparagus is growing as we speak. It's the only food I've ever known that I can watch come out of the earth moment by moment in the sunshine. It's really kind of shocking. It's almost, I don't know, alien, but this is the time of the year where wild asparagus and cultivated asparagus or grown asparagus or produce farm asparagus is coming our way.
And it's my favorite time of the year for asparagus. I don't want that in November. I want it in the spring. And again, if you put your ear to the wind, you can hear asparagus growing in many parts of our beloved Sonoma County. Savoring Sonoma, I'm Clark Wolf for KRCB.
