Monte Rio resident, Tomas Wischerath is the creator of the HABITAAT music project, which uses a creative mixture of natural sounds, hyphy melodies, and euphoric dance beats to bridge the gap between the natural world and electronic dance music.

Every year, Monte Rio School students are treated to "Books and Beyond," an immersive reading experience, concocted by their librarian, Noel McCue. This year, a surprise donation of a neighbor's collection of over 25 Goofy character figurines inspired her literary adventure. 
The Museum of Sonoma County, in partnership with the Redwood Empire Chinese Association presents the 2026 Lunar New Year Festival: the Year of the Horse! Including performances by traditional Chinese dancers, Lion and Dragon dances, along with demonstrations on the art of calligraphy and traditional paper cutting.
This joyous celebration honors the rich cultural heritage and welcoming spirit of the Lunar New Year!
