blackbirdDenise Cadman, a biologist and educator working for the City of Santa Rosa and a long time supporter of the Laguna Foundation, is requesting your stories and art for a Laguna Bird Anthology project.  If you would consider contributing or want to know more about the project please read her invitation below.

My name is Denise Cadman.  I will be working with Gregory Hayes, retired Jack London State Park ranger and professional writer and editor, to assemble short stories, essays, poems and art into a book that can be sold with all profits benefitting the Laguna Foundation.

The theme of the anthology is birds. Your reflections should focus on observations or experiences taken from the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed. Keep in mind the Laguna encompasses a 254 square mile area of land, extending from Cotati to Forestville and bordered by the mountains ringing the Santa Rosa Plain. Multiple contributions will be considered. We are planning on  printing in color to include many beautiful illustrations and photographs.

If you are interested please send me a message by the method you prefer to be contacted (phone, email, post, carrier pigeon).  If you already have something in mind (poem, story, photograph) let me know that as well.  I will be in touch with everyone individually, providing more details and a final date for submission which I anticipate will be some time in the fall. Please forward this letter to friends and artists living in the watershed.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Denise Cadman
