The current exhibition at Sebastopol Center for the Arts is Reverberations 2024 an intriguing cross-discipline exploration. The exhibition combines visual art with poetry, and perceptions on art collecting. Nearly 60 rarely-seen works of art were selected from private local collections, and Bay Area art venues. On view are works by well-known 20th-century artists such as Edward Hopper, Willem de Kooning, and Wayne Thiebaud; as well as contemporary works by Enrique Chagoya, Robert Hudson, Maria de Los Angeles, and many others.
Local poets were invited to compose poetry responding to specific works of art and these are installed alongside the artworks. To continue the conversation, written statements are provided by some of the collectors expressing their personal insights about the artwork.
A roster of programs and events are scheduled through the run of the exhibition, including readings, lectures, and panel discussions.
Reverberations runs through August 10 at Sebastopol Center for the Arts on South High St. in Sebastopol.
