
Sonoma County is one of many jurisdictions across the nation grappling with how to hold law enforcement accountable for abuse and misconduct. In November, voters will decide whether to pass an initiative that would strengthen the agency charged with reviewing allegations against law enforcement. But in other jurisdictions, District Attorneys are taking the lead on reform. News Director Steve Mencher spoke with Chesa Boudin, District Attorney of the City and County of San Francisco. Since taking office in January, Boudin has moved quickly to ramp up police oversight. But there’s a fundamental dilemma.
