Back to School at SRJC

Students are heading back to school at Santa Rosa Junior College this week—at least for those who could get into the classes they needed.

Dr. Frank ChongWhen Dr. Frank Chong  started work as the new president of Santa Rosa Junior College, he knew what to expect on campus.  The surprise, he says, came in his encounters with people in the community.

One of the consequences of trimming the course lists at SRJC has been reduced access to classes for students who are not on a degree path, notably those who are seeking additional education for personal enrichment. Chong agrees that that the Junior College should be available for that purpose, too, but says that right now, budget constraints are getting in the way.
