Up and down the California coast, hikers and walkers enjoy access to many trails and paths that follow the shoreline. But the dream of a single unified trail running from Oregon to Mexico is still a ways away.
The California Coastal Trail is more than an environmental benefit, says Una Glass, Executive Director of CoastWalk. It is also a substantial economic driver.
One reason that progress on the Coastal Trail has slowed lately is a depletion in the state bond funds that have financed those projects. But Glass is hopeful that voters will endorse additional bond measures in the next few years.
