Music has powers to persuade, to heal, and to inspire. But do musical instruments have the ability to ease strife in the Palestinian territories? A grass-roots effort from Santa Rosa is trying to find out.

The campaign to collect Musical Instruments for the People of Palestine also has its own Facebook page.

The prohibition on importing musical instruments into the Palestinean territories is not quite absolute. Apparently, it depends on who is doing the shipping, and whether or not the instruments qualify to be designated as humanitarian aid. Read a more detailed explanations here.
