Proposition 15 on the June ballot wants to demonstrate that publicly funded campaigns can work in California. But it will have to weather the current big-money election climate to do so.

The general process that would be implemented by Proposition 15 is not an exotic experiment, says campaign chairman Trent Lange. The same approach is already in place, successfully, in several other states as well as the cities of  Albuquerque and Portland, Oregon.

Trent Lange (left)  will join local elected officials at a Proposition 15 campaign event on Saturday, April 10,   3-5 pm at the Santa Rosa Senior Center 704  Bennett Valley Road. Also slated to appear are Santa Rosa Mayor Susan Gorin, Cloverdale Mayor Carol Russell, and David Glass, former mayor and current city council member in Petaluma.
