Here and Now - Kashia Coastal Reserve

Social justice and environmentalism go hand-in-hand in a project that is preserving 700 acres of land along the Sonoma County Coast. In a unique plan, the Sonoma County Supervisors transferred the acreage back to the Kashia Band of Pomo, who once protected this region as part of their ancestral lands.  A dramatic bluff-top trail will be opened for the public to enjoy this beautiful coast and to understand why this land is worthy of protection.
