The Lumineers are coming to the Chase Center in SF Tuesday, August 18.
Listen for your chance to win a pair of tickets this week during Music Mornings with Brian Griffith between 9:00 am and Noon.
It took four years for The Lumineers to follow up their platinum-plus, multi-Grammy-nominated, self-titled debut — which spent 46 weeks on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #2 — but ‘Cleopatra’ is well worth the wait. After exploding onto the scene with their monster single, “Ho Hey” (which spent a staggering 62 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #3) and its follow-up, “Stubborn Love” (recently featured on President Barack Obama’s Spotify playlist), The Lumineers spent a solid three years touring six of the seven continents. During that time, The Lumineers — whose original members Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites founded the band in Ramsey, New Jersey back in 2002 — earned a pair of Grammy nominations (Best New Artist, Best Americana Album), contributed two songs to ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise (including the hit Jennifer Lawrence/James Newton Howard collaboration, “The Hanging Tree”) and sold an impressive 1.7 million albums in the U.S., and 3 million worldwide.
With four years between albums, The Lumineers are excited to get back out on the road and, as Wesley puts it, “connect with the new record and have people connect with it.”
There is something timeless about The Lumineers that links their songs to 18th-century pastorals, 19th-century work songs, 20th-century folk narratives and 21st-century post-modern cinematic soundscapes.
“We continue to make the kind of records we want to,” says Wesley. “We believe in this music. It’s a true labor of love. We just want to keep reaching more people with our songs.”
Given the evidence on The Lumineers’ eagerly anticipated sophomore album ‘Cleopatra,’ that shouldn’t be a problem.

This will minimize network congestion and free up "space" for emergency communications. If you do need to make a call, try to keep it brief and only convey vital information to emergency personnel and/or family. Limiting calls also conserves cell phone battery power.
For non-emergencies, try text messaging from your wireless phone. Text messages to other wireless devices may go through when your call may not, though there may be a delivery delay during times of network congestion. (You can also text to 911 in certain locations, so check ahead on availability.)
Check your wireless device or manual for ways to conserve battery power, such as dimming the brightness of your display screen and disabling certain applications. If you have difficulty accessing your wireless network, consider connecting to WiFi service if your phone is WiFi-capable. If the wireless network in your area is damaged and you do not see any signal bars on your phone, consider turning your phone off to prevent the battery from draining as your phone seeks a usable wireless signal.
Learn and use the designated number in your state for highway accidents or other non-life-threatening incidents.
Redialing a wireless call multiple times in quick succession can increase network congestion, further limiting the ability of all users to place calls. If you must make a call, space out your call attempts.
If you have call forwarding on a landline phone at home, consider forwarding those calls to your wireless number in the event of an evacuation. This will help you continue to receive incoming calls to your home telephone number.

October 8, 2019
The County of Sonoma and the City of Santa Rosa are advocating for a gubernatorial emergency proclamation in preparation for the consequences of the current planned power shutoff. PG&E informed County and City officials today that critical current weather conditions persist and will result in a power shutoff. Both agencies proclaimed a state of local emergency on Monday after being notified of the possibility of the now confirmed extended de-energization event by PG&E.
The National Weather Service has upgraded the Fire Weather Watch to a Red Flag Warning for the North Bay Mountains and North Bay Interior Valleys, which includes all of Santa Rosa and a majority of Sonoma County, from 5a.m. Wednesday, October 9, to 5 p.m. Thursday, October 10. In addition, a Wind Advisory has been issued for the upper elevations of Sonoma County, above 1,000 feet, from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 3 p.m. Thursday.
The County of Sonoma estimates that 262,000 residents will be impacted by this event. Residents should be prepared for power outages beginning late tonight or in the very early hours of Wednesday, October 9. PG&E has indicated they expect to begin to restore power on Thursday, October 10 at about 12 p.m. It may take them up to five days to fully restore power to all customers across Northern California. PG&E expects damage to their system which could cause restoration delays. Winds may also impact their infrastructure outside of their planned power shutoff areas. All residents are advised to be prepared to lose power.
PG&E will open a Community Resource Center for impacted residents in Sonoma County at the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building located at 1351 Maple Ave, Santa Rosa. The Community Resource Center will open Wednesday, October 9, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will open daily until power is restored.
Residents are also advised to check the PG&E map here:
https://www.pge.com/en_US/safety/emergency-preparedness/natural-disaster/wildfires/psps-service-impact-map.page.
The County of Sonoma and City of Santa Rosa Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) remain activated to support residents and to respond to the impacts of an extended power outage.
For updates and to identify service areas that may be affected by a potential power outage, residents should visit www.pge.com/psps and check individual addresses on PG&E’s interactive potential outage map.
To learn more about a PG&E’s power shutoff, visit www.PGE.com/weather or call PG&E’s 24-hour power outage information center at 1-800-743-5002.
Customers can update their contact information to receive notifications sent by PG&E online or by phone, in English, Spanish, and other languages at 1-866-743-6589.
The City and County are aware that there have been difficulties with PG&E’s website due to high volume of use. Residents can also visit this GIS map to find more information specific to Sonoma County.
To find more information about preparing for power outages visit www.SoCoEmergency.org. Sign up for Sonoma County emergency alerts on SoCoAlert.org.
For questions about the power shutoff, contact Sonoma County 2-1-1. Do not call 9-1-1 unless it is an emergency.
