Sonoma County prides itself on its agricultural history, but high land costs are making it difficult for the next generation of farmers to get a foothold. An alliance of farmers, landowners and public agencies are hoping to change that.

The "Growing Our Farms" event takes place at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds on April 23 in the afternoon.

Kaiser Permanente is launching a large-scale genetic study of children on the autism spectrum and their parents, in hopes of unraveling the factors causing the disorder, and recent increases in the rate of diagnoses.

Taxes aren’t the only thing due on April 15th; so are ballots in the current mail-in assessment election for the Marin-Sonoma Mosquito, Vector and Disease Control District.
