Out of the ashes of the October fires grew a variety of organizations to help rebuild the county. Today begins a series looking into them to find out what makes each unique in what they bring to the recovery effort. To start off this series, reporter J. Mateo Baker looked into the Rebuild Northbay Foundation, founded just days after the fire, with this report.

When the fires moved on the Redwood Valley Rancheria on October 8, eleven members of the Little River Band of Pomo Indians stayed behind to fight the flames.
Sonoma County Assessor, William F. Rousseau, is urging residents displaced by the October 2017 wildfires to update their mailing address with the Assessor’s office.

Ghilarducci was the face of the state during the fire crisis, and earned high marks for his clear communication – and commitment. He took time off from marshaling forces in Southern California fighting to clear the mudslides there, to answer questions from fire survivors in our region.
