This is one of 10 sites that will be targeted in the $1.2 million cleanup effort, which is a joint project of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department, Petaluma Police, EPA and CalRecycle.
Most of the sites involve removing abandoned and decaying vessels from the waterway, where they are navigational hazards.
