Federal officials have allegedly made their second arrest in Sonoma County since the start of the new Trump Administration.

That's according to the community support group North Bay Rapid Response Network.

The group says the arrest took place Tuesday morning, but gave few other details.

The arrest by US Immigration & Customs Enforcement apparently occurred around 8 AM, the morning of April 8th, at a Petaluma gas station.

In mid-March, plainclothes ICE officers arrested an individual at the county's probation office in Santa Rosa.

That action prompted immediate condemnation from Sonoma County officials, who made clear the county's policy of non-cooperation with ICE.

Meanwhile, according to reporting in the Guardian, ICE has allegedly used manipulative internet tactics since the new Trump administration took power

The agency has updated the time stamps on years-old press releases, some going all the way back to 2008, allegedly in an attempt to make internet searches show a massive wave of arrests nationwide.

Search results for "ICE Arrest Sonoma County" show a statement about the release of an undocumented immigrant from Sonoma County jail, dated January 24th, 2025; but the actual statement on the ICE website is from November 2017.

The updated search engine display dates have apparently occurred for ICE statements in all 50 states.

ICE has not yet responded to a KRCB News request for comment about Tuesday's alleged arrest in Sonoma County.
