Concern Workers Are Being Asked To Harvest Despite Smoke

Axis HighHillDuring the 2019 Kincade Fire and 2017 Wine Country Fires, workers were asked to continue to work outdoors despite hazardous conditions. Often, they were not given masks. This concern is again surfacing as the Lighting Complex Fires consume a collective 131,000 acres with no containment. In previous years, large wildfires have taken place at the end of the harvest. This year the fires have arrived during the height of harvest season. During a press conference, Thursday morning Rafael Vásquez from KBBF and a Professor at Santa Rosa Junior College asked how the Sonoma County supervisors were responding.  Sonoma County Supervisors Susan Gorin answers:
