The death of a Petaluma man while in the custody of the Sheriff’s Office is raising questions about law enforcement oversight. 52-year old David Ward died the day before Thanksgiving after being placed in a carotid hold by a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputy. The exact cause of death is still under investigation. KRCB’s Adia White talked with a member of the county’s law enforcement oversight council as well as a representative from the Sheriff’s office to learn more.
