Reporter Stacey Dennick joined the crowd of approximately 25,000 attendees. 

The event was part trade show, part frat house, with mostly men and some women roaming the fairgrounds, sampling the goods, and staying mellow. Some characters, including at least one Three-card Monte swindler, worked the crowd, extracting hundred dollar bills from some willing victims. But for the most part, the focus was on celebrating the harvest in the spirit of community as Stacey Dennick reports.
