One of the programs of Medicaid in California is In-Home Support Services, which is facing an additional 6% cut in funding under the current version of the American Health Care Act. Jennifer Kent, Director of the state Department of Health Care Services, explains that multi-billion dollar program aids nearly half a million of the most vulnerable people in the state, while supporting their independence from institutional care. It also provides employment for another 500,000 Californians.
