As Barbie Robinson takes the helm of the Sonoma County Department of Health Services, she is keenly aware that the biggest challenge she will face in the near future is the possible repeal of the nation al Affordable Care Act.

Even with Obamacare still  in full effect in California, Robinson notes that thousands of Sonoma County residents remain uninsured.

Robinson joined the Sonoma County Department of Health in 2016, after a lengthy career working as an administrator for Medicare and Medicaid in San Francisco. Over the past year, she served as Associate Director and then Interim director before being named to the department's top post a month ago.
