Already, the Glen Ellen–based organization is making an impact—and getting some major recognition for their efforts.

 In the wake of the fires that have raged through part of Lake County recently, it wasn’t the first responders who played the biggest part in caring for displaced livestock and other animals, it was the Middletown Veterinary Hospital.  Recognizing a new kind of need, Julie Atwood put her fundraising skills to work to assist them, too.
