Sesame Street
Weekdays at 7 am SESAME STREET has garnered more than 100 awards, including multiple Emmys, two Peabodys, four Parents’ Choice Awards and an Action for Children’s Television Special Achievement Award. The series delivers academic and social education that prepares kids for grade school. Since its premiere, the show’s base curriculum has been set by academic research on preschoolers. Encore episodes focus on music and art and how these tools can be used to develop the whole child — the cognitive, social, emotional and physical attributes. In addition, “Elmo’s World,” which looks at the world through the eyes of a three-year-old, continues as a featured segment. Themes include birthdays, pets, teeth, families, games and more.
Dragon Tales
Weekdays at 8 am This animated series for children chronicles the adventures of six-year-old Emmy and her four-year-old brother Max, who discover a magic dragon scale in the playroom of their new home. When they hold the scale and chant a poem, they’re transported to Dragon Land, an enchanted land where they meet Ord, Cassie, Zak and Wheezie (a two-headed dragon) and Quetzal — fantastical dragons that possess very human qualities. Through its stories, the series demonstrates different strategies that children can use to explore the emotional, physical, cognitive and social challenges they face. Each episode features a situation that Emmy, Max and the dragons confront together.
Curious George

Sid the Science Kid
Sid the Science Kid uses comedy to celebrate children’s natural curiosity about science and explores their “Why?” questions in everyday life. Clifford the Big Red Dog
Weekdays at 2 pm Based on the popular Scholastic book series by Norman Bridwell about the lovable oversized canine with his head in the clouds but four paws planted firmly on the ground, Clifford presents a larger-than-life view of the world. With his loving human, Emily Elizabeth, and dog pals, Cleo and T-Bone, Clifford inhabits a colorful island community, inviting viewers on a fun-filled journey through childhood, navigating the dips and curves along the way. CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG emphasizes good citizenship and the importance of community. Each episode concludes with a component of “Clifford’s Big Ideas” — 10 different attributes children learn to embrace — which leaves them with something to think about and practice in their lives.
Cyberchase
Weekdays at 2:30 pm Math rules in the animated adventure series CYBERCHASE. CYBERCHASE energizes kids ages eight-eleven with math power. Full of cyber-mysteries with eye-popping animation and a sly comic flair, the daily series features the voices of Christopher Lloyd and Gilbert Gottfried. CYBERCHASE sends the message that math is fun—it’s about problem solving and, boy, does it come in handy. When the dastardly villain Hacker (Lloyd) launches a mad mission to conquer the virtual universe, Motherboard calls upon three earth kids for help. They are Jackie, Matt and Inez—the culturally diverse heroes of CYBERCHASE—who, along with the wise-cracking cyber-bird Digit (Gottfried), travel from their real-world realm to the colorful virtual vistas of cyberspace, where they vanquish the bad guys in an all-out battle of wits. Each episode takes the kids on a thrilling adventure driven by a different math concept—from tackling time in ancient Egyptian tombs, to cracking codes in creepy caves or making sense of numbers in a fractured fairy tale world.
Arthur
Weekdays at 3:00 pm A three-time Emmy Award-winner, this daily half-hour animated series, based on Marc Brown’s best-selling Arthur adventure books, shows how Arthur and his friends use effective, age-appropriate problem-solving skills. Each episode consists of two independent stories focusing on themes and events central to children’s lives. Whether facing down a bully, worrying about a new teacher or being the very last person on earth to lose his baby teeth, Arthur and his friends manage to solve their crises with imagination, kindness and a lot of humor. The series promotes literacy and is complemented by a comprehensive outreach campaign targeted to teachers, librarians, parents and daycare providers.
WordGirl

WORDGIRL, the new PBS KIDS GO! series from Scholastic Media and Soup2Nuts that chronicles the adventures of Becky Botsford, a mild-mannered fifth grader who, at the call of duty, transforms into WordGirl — caped crusader and definition dynamo, debuted as a series of on-air and online shorts in November 2006. The full half-hour animated series, featuring the voices of Tom Kenny ("SpongeBob SquarePants"), Chris Parnell ("Saturday Night Live") and veteran character actor Jeffrey Tambor.
Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman
Monday - Thursday at 4 pm
Part game show, part reality TV, and part spoof, FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman features real kids, real challenges, real science, and an unreal animated host – a dog named Ruff Ruffman. The series mixes live-action with animation, and breaks the mold with its educational and comical take on America's newest television genre. Targeting six- to ten-year-olds, the series is spontaneous, unscripted, and full of surprises.
SciGirls
Fridays at 4 pm
SciGirls is a program that offers fun science experiences for girls across the country. SciGirls get together in camps, clubs, and science centers to watch DFTV videos that showcase girls and women doing science. Then SciGirls take the wheel, doing their own investigations that relate to the science seen in the videos. The SciGirls program is still young and small-scale, so SciGirls programs only exist in a handful of places across the United States. However, every year the number of places offering SciGirls camps or clubs grows. If there are not SciGirls opportunities in your home town just yet, there might be soon!

BIZ KID$ educates children 6 to 12 about financial literacy, fiscal and social responsibility, work readiness and entrepreneurship in a fun and memorable way. Through entertaining skits, informational segments and real-world profiles, the 26-part series introduces young viewers to the concepts of business ownership, money management, planning, risk-taking and perseverance. Shot on various locations around the United States, BIZ KID$ connects finance to kids' everyday lives through stories of children and young adults founding and operating their own businesses.

Lively and colorful, the series chronicles the adventures of 10-year-old twins Maya and Miguel Santos and features their family, friends and a richly diverse neighborhood. This never-a-dull-moment situation comedy revolves around Maya’s well-intended meddling in her family’s and friends’ lives. While every episode will take humorous twists and turns, the twins’ motivation comes from the philosophy that shared happiness is more important than personal gain. Sprinkled throughout this hilarious series are values of friendship, family and a positive, culturally rich portrayal of Latino family, language and cultures.

Thomas and Friends
Saturdays at 9:30 am THOMAS AND FRIENDS is the timeless television series based on the much-loved books by Reverend W. Awdry. Set on the imaginary island of Sodor, the show follows the adventures of Thomas, a cheeky little Tank Engine. Each half hour, shot in unique real-time live-action, features three separate stories, including two seven-minute adventures and one five-minute “classic” Thomas story. The stories focus on the seven original engines: Thomas, Edward, James, Gordon, Percy, Henry and Toby, plus Emily, the first female steam engine — all under the watchful eye of Sir Topham Hatt, the manager of the Sodor Railway. At the end of each program, the engines are “roll-called” in a musical finale featuring their very own team song. Thomas’s world is an idealized place with a strong community ethos typified by a universal willingness to embrace good manners, hard work and a desire to be “really useful.” The themes are reinforced by unique graphic and live-action interstitials and songs. The audience empathizes with the hopes, fears, aspirations, achievements and conflicts that the engines experience.
Bob the Builder

BOB THE BUILDER is a stop frame, animated series aimed at preschoolers (two- to five-year olds). Each episode follows the adventures of Bob and his machines: Scoop the leader/digger, Muck the digger/dumper, Dizzy the cement mixer, Lofty the crane and Roley the steamroller. Bob's business partner, Wendy, and Pilchard the cat also help out in the builder's yard. Other characters include Farmer Pickles, his tractor, Travis, and the naughty scarecrow Spud — who is always up to mischief.
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

Our old favorite, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, is moving from weekdays at 9 am to Saturdays at 10:30 am. This will be the last season for this beloved program, so be sure to watch it with your kids!

A Place of Our Own (and Los Ni�os en Su Casa in Spanish) is a daily television series, a website, and an extensive outreach program devoted to the unique needs of people who care for children. Family, friends and neighbors – everyone who takes care of young children – are child care providers. Every interaction and every activity of these adults with their charges provide valuable opportunities to help children learn and grow.
A Place of Our Own shares ways for us all to help children acquire cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills, as well as nurture language and literacy development.
