  KRCB TELEVISED AUCTION
 RULES, REGULATIONS, SUGGESTIONS


 

By participating in a KRCB auction, each bidder agrees to the following rules and procedures of the auction.

KRCB AUCTION PROCEDURES AND RULES

First, we want to thank you for taking part in the KRCB auction event, by which you help KRCB broadcast quality programming.  When you bid at our auction, you are doing more than getting a great wine, dining experience or travel package-you are helping to keep KRCB Television 22 on the air!


Televised Auctions

By our televised auctions, we broadcast items for sale, and keep you posted on bidding as it progresses.  You may bid by telephone or on-line as announced during the auction.  By making a bid, you are agreeing that if yours is the highest bid, that you will complete the sale for the item as described below.


Televised auctions are fast-paced and competitive.  Because bids are being received by 20+ phones in our studio and from multiple on-line connections, we may not be able to broadcast the most recent higher bids as quickly as they are received, and we may not be able to post the highest bid received before the item or board is closed to further bidding. 

When an item or board closes for bidding, the last posted bid MAY NOT and most likely IS NOT the winning bid. 

Therefore, if you want an item, we highly suggest that you place your best bid right away.


Bidding on some items (Blue, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) will close online and on TV simultaneously.  Closing times are subject to change without notice. 

We suggest you do not place any last minute online bids, but rather call in last minute bids to 707-584-2000 or 800-287-2722.  However, KRCB is not responsible for not being able to process your last-minute bid before bidding has been concluded due to high volume of calls.


All item descriptions are provided by the donors.  Although KRCB has attempted to describe items correctly based on the information provided by donors, bidders are expected to rely on donor information and their own determination of value.

You may choose to conduct independent research as to the value of the item. 

KRCB disclaims any responsibility as to whether the description of the item provided by the donor is accurate. 

It is your responsibility to listen carefully to the description of the item, determine the amount of your bid, the basis for your bid, and whether you are financially able to pay for the item if your bid in the winning bid.


If an estimated value is provided in connection with an item during the bidding process, that value is an estimate of fair market value.  Items have not been appraised unless noted. 

The amount you pay above this fair market value estimate is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution.

However, please consult your tax advisor to clarify or determine the amount of the any tax deduction.


All items are sold on an “as-is” basis without representations or warranties of any kind from KRCB.   ALL SALES ARE FINAL.  There are no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted.  Each winning bidder assumes all responsibilities related to the auction and items obtained at the auction, and agrees to hold KRCB harmless from any liability with respect thereto.

 
Airfare is NOT included unless specifically stated.


If you are the winning bidder, our confirmation department will call you within two hours of the close of bidding on the item. 

If there is a tie, the first person who made the bid in the winning amount will declared the winner.   If you do not hear from us, you were not the winner. 

If you do receive a call that you were a winner, please ask any questions you may have about the item at that time.  You have a one-time opportunity during the confirmation phone call to decline an item. 

If you decline the item, the confirmation department will move quickly on to the next highest bidder. 

If you do not decline the item during the confirmation phone call, your sale is final


Payment for the item is due during the confirmation call. 

Acceptable forms of payments are VISA, MasterCard, Discovercard and bank debit cards (those that have VISA or MasterCard symbol on it). WE CANNOT AND NO NOT ACCEPT cash, check or American Express. 

If you are the winning bidder on an item you will be asked for your credit card number during the confirmation call and your card will be charged that night.


Upon winning an item and paying for the item, you may pick up the item, or arrange to have it shipped to you. 

If you choose to pick up an item, the pick-up time is the Saturday immediately following the second weekend of the televised auction, between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

If you chose to have your items shipped to you, all shipping charges will be paid by you.  The cost of shipping is dependent upon the weight of the item and the zip code to which it is being sent.  Shipping charges will be placed on your credit card; there is also a $5.00 handling charge.  Gift certificates are mailed at no charge.

 
Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangement, will be sold and proceeds will go to KRCB.


On-Line Auctions


By our on-line auctions, we place on our website the items for sale, and keep you posted on bidding as it progresses.  You may only bid on-line for the item.  By making a bid, you are agreeing that if yours is the highest bid, that you will complete the sale for the item as described below.


As on-line bids can come in at the last minute, we may not be able to post the highest bid received before the item is closed to further bidding. 

When an item or board closes for bidding, the last posted bid MAY NOT and most likely IS NOT the winning bid.

Special rules relating to wine and beer items


All wine and beer items are sold in California.  The regulations governing the shipping of alcohol out of state vary from state to state.  It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to arrange for any wine or beer pick-up in California or arrange for shipment of the wine or beer out of state in compliance with applicable state and local laws. 

We will only ship wine to out of state residents if they reside in a state that we can legally ship to. 

YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO BID ON AND PICK-UP ANY ALCHOHOLC BEVERAGE.


If you have requested that wine or beer be shipped to you, the wine will be shipped via a carrier that requires a signature of a person 21 years or older for delivery. 

If KRCB is not satisfied with the buyer’s proposed shipping arrangement outside of California, we reserve the right to cancel the sale and refund the purchase price.


KRCB is aware that some persons engage in manipulative practices in auction bidding which could prohibit you from winning an item.  We attempt to determine these practices and are working with local authorities to prevent and prosecute.
