North-South: Art as a Tool to Mediate Political and Social Conflict is a joint effort between the Sonoma County Museum and the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art (GMoMA) in Gyeonggi-Do, Korea. It is funded with a Museums Connect grant from the U.S. Department of State's Bureau ofEducational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the American Association of Museums. The goal of the North-South project is to compare the human side of the parallel experiences of living near Korea's Demilitarized Zone and living in neighborhoods affected by the Norteño-Sureño gang conflict in Northern California.
