Bay Area Bountiful: Tracking Wildlife
Bay Area naturalists are hot on the trail of our local animal residents to better understand their movements and figure out ways to protect them. We learn about the landmark preservation accomplishments entailed in establishing the North Coyote Valley Preserve in San Jose and how it maintains and improves connectivity for local fauna traversing from one local mountain range to another; we tag along with the otter spotters of River Otter Ecology Project in Marin and see how over the course of many years a dedicated group of citizen scientists support a tenacious biologist in an attempt to reintroduce an endangered indigenous species of butterfly to its original Peninsula home.
