Kaiser Permanente Building After Northridge EarthquakeSouthern California was hit by two large earthquakes last week. One was a magnitude 7.1; the largest recorded in the state in twenty years. It’s a reminder that the next one could be centered in downtown Los Angeles or San Francisco. Southern California Public Radio station KPCC released a podcast called The Big One this year. It talks about what will happen if a major earthquake hits. Host, Jacob Margolis, visited Santa Rosa in April to give advice to a group of emergency managers on how to use storytelling to effectively share information. We’re sharing an excerpt from his talk and a taste of the podcast to encourage you to get your earthquake kit ready.
