• State Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones says the data surrounding the outbreak of fires in California this month is "chilling.

" He says more than 54-hundred homes were destroyed and nearly 42-hundred damaged.

• Hundreds of people respond to fires just as firefighters do. And, as we saw this week, their lives are in danger too.
