  arid Fresno for the funeral of her sometime lover (also named Alex) and s
 earches for a way to honor her memory. “The Séance” is an often comic
  mosaic of personalities who struggle against the harsh environment of a l
 iteral and spiritual drought. &quot\;The Séance&quot\; is the first stud
 ent-written play to be part of the department’s main season. Student pla
 ywright Dylan Waite's written works have been presented at the Kennedy Cen
 ter American College Theater Festival\, Bay Area Playwrights Festival and 
 Sonoma State University's “Super Mega Molten Hot Lava New Play Festival.

 ilant homecoming for two Santa Rosa natives: Kyle Covington\, principal tr
 ombonist of the San Diego Symphony and Paul Dooley\, award-winning compose
 r and lecturer at the University of Michigan. Under the baton of Andy Coll
 insworth\, Covington will play the Ewazen Trombone Concerto and Dooley’s
  new wind band composition\, Point Blank. The concert will feature an appe
 arance by festival clinician Gary W. Hill\, director of ensembles at Arizo
