KRCB’s new documentary, Tengo La Voz — I Have The Voice, takes a behind-the-scenes look at nearly 2 years of workshops, summer camps, and other exciting opportunities presented under the “Tengo La Voz” banner.
Participants brought their original contributions to their enthusiastic mentors, provided by the Sonoma County Library, the Sonoma County Museum, and KRCB. These artists, authors, media producers, and other professionals gave the students new creative and technical skills to increase their confidence and provide access to new outlets of communication.
As Tengo La Voz mentors, the KRCB-TV and KRCB-FM production team offered several different workshops throughout Sonoma County. Trained with new skills, KRCB’s Tengo La Voz team documented many of the subsequent activities, such as the creation of a new public mural with ArtStart and a performance of poetry, rap, and spoken word with author and performer Paul Flores.
The budding media producers also created a number of original works. Some of these videos are also included in the documentary, which premiers this month on KRCB on Wednesday, Sept. 30th at 8 pm.
