Listen to What Students at Roseland University Prep Say About "Bless Me, Ultima"
Students at Roseland University Prep were given copies of "Bendiceme Ultima" ("Bless Me, Ultima) by Rudolfo Anaya to read as part of Big Read, Sonoma County. After reading the book some students volunteered to reflect on the themes, characters and writing style of the author. If you haven't read the book yet let these students be your motivation to pick up a copy today.
A special thank you to Ms. Langan's AP Spanish students for helping us spread the word about The Big Read.
What is The Big Read, Sonoma County?
The Big Read, Sonoma County is inviting teachers, students, seniors, arts and community organizations, private business, public entities, and other individuals or groups with an interest in supporting literacy and the promotion of reading as a pleasurable activity to participate in The Big Read, Sonoma County by creating their own event or project. Events must take place during March 2012 and can be for one day or a series of days, serve public or private groups, focusing on any age or demographic. Projects (art, theatrical, musical) are encouraged (especially by classroom teachers) in order to engage “reluctant readers.”
