A Season’s Griot 2008

A Season’s Griot captures the tales and traditions of African-American and African peoples. This year’s program features “Stories from the Neighborhood,” as acclaimed storyteller Madafo Lloyd Wilson and friends recall growing up in his home town of Wilmington, NC, during the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s with traditional and original works of poetry, music, and prose that speak to the institution of family, and the spoken and unspoken principles and values of the black community.
