Fingers to the Bone

Friends,  As we pass the middle of summer, I would like to let you know that we here at the station are engaged in quite a number of new projects and activities, hopefully all for the good of the community.  Since you're here, you know that we've launched our new web site.  I've been taught that sites are always evolving and we shouldn't be afraid to try new things and even to fail.  OK, we're going for it, but relying on you to give us feedback.

We've just wrapped up our hybrid auction - on line and on television.  Thanks for experimenting with us on that approach; I trust you "won" that item you were bidding on.

As you've seen elsewhere on these pages, we will shortly be launching The Big Read with activities in the community through October.  As you probably know we will all be reading To Kill a Mockingbird . Watch and listen to KRCB air to hear community members read from the book and to present their opinions about whether or not racisim exisits in our community.

Almost simultaneously, we will be presenting, with our partners, a host of activities as we wrap up Tengo la Voz.  We'll begin in September and go through harvest, so keep an eye out for those activities.

And, as if there could be more, our engineering staff continues deep in the conversion of KRCB television froman analog transmission to digital.  If you need to get the government coupon to buy your set-top box  to pick up digital signals, check elsewhere on this site for the instructions on how to do that.

As I say, fingers to the bone.

Welcome to the updated and always improving KRCB web site. A number of us here at the station will be posting regular blogs to give you both a sense of the inside of your public broadcasting service and to solicit your thoughts and input. After all, as pub'casters (as they call us in the industry rags) we work for you, managing and stewarding this public resource in service of the North Bay community.

So, please do be in touch; let us know how we're doing. As you might guess, we hear from folks when we do something wrong, and that's cool, but do also let us know when you like what we're doing or have an idea for something new and different!
