KRCB Hosts Sonoma County Artists for Live Pledge Event
On Saturday night, December 3rd, KRCB hosted popular Sonoma County Artists Annie Murphy Springer and Susan Ball in our studios as part of a live pledge night featuring a documentary on beloved public television personality, Bob Ross. Annie and Susan were each asked to complete an original work during the ninety minute program. Both of their finished paintings will be auctioned for the benefit of KRCB.
Hosting the program were long time volunteers Mick Aguilera and Tina Vierra. Our telephone bank was staffed by volunteers from the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers.


KRCB hosts Leadership Santa Rosa
KRCB staff member, Peter Karp, hosted the current class of Leadership Santa Rosa at the station on November 15 as a pre-tour for LSR's Media Day. Approximately 20 folks met with News Director, Bruce Robinson, (himself a former LSR participant) to discuss the state of the media, and with President and CEO, Nancy Dobbs, to discuss KRCB's commitment to authentic civic engagement. Tours of the station followed.





KRCB interviews Susan Gorin and Pete Peterson
On November 15 and 17th, KRCB hosted, respectively, Pete Peterson and Susan Gorin to discuss the current state of public engagement in California. Peterson, head of the Davenport Institute at Pepperdine University, spoke of the critical need for elected representatives to become proficient in the leadership skills necessary for meaningful, effective 21st century engagement between citizens and those representatives. Gorin, herself a member of the Santa Rosa City Council, spoke of how important genuine and thoughtful citizen input is to elected representatives who want to change the dynamic of our decision-making process.

KRCB Hosts Event with Ira Glass at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa. 11.6.2011
KRCB hosted a meet and greet event for Leadership Circle members and others with Ira Glass, host of This American Life on public radio stations.
This American Life is a long-running (1995-present), award-winning weekly documentary series heard on KRCB FM, Fridays at 7pm and Saturdays at 9am. Produced by Chicago Public Radio, T.A.L. is a unique take on radio journalism, with a hip, literary style.
