Connections

Alternate Wednesdays at 8 pm

Hosts: Doug Jayne and Allegra Broughton
I began working at KRCB in 1996 as the host of Connections. Over the years, I've done the Jazz show, New releases, Sonoma Co. Music Program, and many specialty shows (Beach Boys, Tom Waits, Howlin' Wolf, Elvis, Studio Kafe, etc.). I've produced 2 benefit compilation CD's for KRCB, and am planning a third.
I am co- owner of The Last Record Store, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and love of music with the listener. I am still hosting Connections, and I
try to keep the show entertaining and a little bit different from week to week, showcasing music that I love. Check out my store here:

Playlists

allegra_broughton.jpgA favorite, familiar voice at music venues around the Bay for many years, Allegra Broughton is now a regular voice here on KRCB as well. She’s alternating with long-time Radio 91 mainstay Doug Jayne as host of Connections on Wednesday nights. A San Francisco native and fourth generation Californian with a lifelong interest in music as both fan and performer, Broughton is best known as the songwriter/singer/guitarist in the folk-rock band Solid Air (with co-founder Sam Page) for almost 25 years. Her connections with KRCB also include playing in The Wild Catahoulas, a cajun/zydeco band, with Gus Garelick (host of the Fiddlin’ Zone here) and the Americana band, Laughing Gravy, alongside the aforementioned Doug Jayne. Allegra also sings with the gospel R&B revue SoulJoy.  “I love all kinds of music, with a special fondness for great singers in all genres, world music, R&B, and good old rock and roll,” Broughton says. “I’ve wanted to do a radio show for many years and  I look forward to being the new Connections host.” Listen for her on the on the first and third Wednesdays at 8 pm.
