Viewer Exchange: Receiving Channels 22.2 and 22.3 on Comcast cable

Dear KRCB:

I subscribe to Comcast Cable TV and can access Ch. 22 and no other KRCB channel, yet your tv listing (internet) shows other channels -- Ch. 22.1 and 22.2 DT2. How can I access them via Comcast? Their TV listing does not show these channels. Please help.

Thank you.

Dear Viewer:

At this time, Comcast does not carry our over-the-air digital Channels 22.2 and 22.3. Only those viewers who receive our signal via antenna can access these. Channel 22.1 is the same as Channel 22 which Comcast and satellite subscribers can receive. Channel 22.2 is CreateTV, and Channel 22.3 is our FM radio broadcast.

Best regards,

Viewer Exchange: Over the air reception in Berkeley

Posted by Viewer Exchange in Untagged

Viewer Exchange

Viewer asks:

Does Channel 22 come in in Berkeley when using my digital converter box? I have not been able to get it, but maybe my antenna is in the wrong position.

Dear Viewer:

We do have viewers from Berkeley who get us over the air, however their ability to get us depends on several factors, e.g., altitude, clear sight of Sonoma Mountain where our antenna is located, foliage obstructions. If you want to attempt to reposition your antenna and have a clear sight of Sonoma Mountain, be sure to "aim" it to the western side of the mountain (Petaluma, Old Adobe and Washington roads) rather than to the eastern (Sonoma) side. Best of luck.

Viewer Exchange: TV Schedule

Posted by Viewer Exchange in Untagged

Viewer Exchange

Dear KRCB:

Are you still doing a paper schedule for TV and radio? If so, I would like to get it. I know mailing is an expense. Perhaps you could post a pdf of the schedule instead of the way you do it now, week by week with few descriptions.

Dear Viewer:

We are still producing a paper schedule of Open Air, our monthly programming guide, and would be happy to put you on a list to receive one. We stopped mailing it except by request in March. There is a pdf available online. If you go to the website, www.krcb.org, and look on the right hand side of the home page, you'll see "Open Air Online." The current month's Open Air is available for download if you click on the link. We put the next month up as soon as it is ready. Contact Joel Bellagio in membership if you'd like to continue to receive a paper copy, 707-584-2018.

There is also a slide in the slideshow at the top center of the home page which also has a link to the Open Air pdf page.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Viewer Exchange: Printing listings from Open Air guide

Posted by Viewer Exchange in Untagged

Viewer Exchange

Dear KRCB:

How can I get the monthly program listings only without printing all 32 pages of "Open Air"? When "Open Air" arrived in the mail, which I prefer, it was no problem.

Dear Viewer:

Thank you for your interest in KRCB and our programming. Our IT person suggests that you download the file and when you print, select just the pages for the program listings. Printing the page range of 16-17 will give the radio listings, and printing pages 21-29 will give the television listings.

We are considering adding a second file that would have just the program listings to make it easier for our viewers to print just the listings. Keep your eye out for that addition.
