On Wednesday, June 08, 2011, at approximately 1:37 p.m., Santa Rosa Police officers were called to the Bank of America at 1155 W. Steele Lane regarding a robbery.  Officers arrived within minutes and learned that the suspect, described as a white male adult in his mid to late 20’s, approximately 6’0” tall and approximately 180 pounds, had fled the area.  The suspect was further described as wearing a green/brown camouflage colored baseball hat, black colored zippered hooded sweatshirt, black t-shirt, khaki colored cargo pants, and black tennis shoes. Officers learned that he suspect had handed the teller a note stating his intention to rob the bank and also that he had a firearm.

suspectDetectives from the Violent Crimes Team took over the investigation and reviewed the video and still photographs.  The photographs, being very clear, were turned over to the media within the first couple of hours (see  photograph at right).  Also, a gray colored SUV with a box style was seen leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed immediately following the robbery and may be related. 

UPDATE 6-8-11

Pursuant to the above bank robbery investigation, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 Detectives learned, with assistance from the public and the victims, the identification of the suspect in this investigation.  He is believed to be Kelly Clark Keating, a 30 year old white male adult, 6’0”, 195 pounds, with brown eyes, and blonde/red hair.  Suspect Keating is associated with a bronze of light brown colored 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pick up truck (four-door), California License plate 8V22243.

The Sonoma County Alliance, through its, “Take Back Our Community Program”  has offered up to $2,500 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of suspect Kelly Keating.

Detectives are continuing to actively investigate this case and locate Keating.  Persons with further information regarding this investigation are encouraged to contact Detective Peirsol or Sergeant Fraga of the Santa Rosa Police Department’s Violent Crimes Team at (707) 543-3590.
