            Drummer & composer Matt Slocum has performed with Shelly Berg, Alan Broadbent, Wynton Marsalis and many more - his debut recording, “Portraits,” has been praised by JazzTimes & the Los Angeles Times. His compositions have been supported with grants from American Music Center, Meet the Composer Foundation & Puffin Center for the Arts. He appears at SSU with his trio, featuring other “young guns,” Sam Yahel, piano and Joe Sanders, bass.

            Jazz Forum at SSU is a unique performance/master class designed to expose jazz majors and guests to a wide variety of jazz styles.
