 , education\, and advocacy. \n \n \n \nWhat:  The Lupus Foundation of 
 America’s (LFA) Walk for Lupus Now brings together thousands of walkers\
 , supporters\, and volunteers in nearly 70 cities across the nation to rai
 se urgently needed funds for life-saving research and support programs.  
 It is also an opportunity for the lupus community to come together and rai
 se awareness of the disease in their local communities.         \n
  \n \n \nWhy:   Lupus is a life-threatening chronic autoimmune disease
  affecting an estimated 1.5 million Americans. The funds raised through th
 e Walk will directly benefit the residents of San Francisco through the cr
 eation and maintenance of education and support services for those affecte
