            The Los Angeles-based duo known as Wahid, featuring oudist Dimitris Mahlis and frame drummer Chris Wabich, is bound to a rich cultural history of ancient civilizations and melodies - by adding personal modern elements, a new style of music is created that looks to Byzantium and the Levant for melodic inspiration. Their compositions and approach to improvisation defy genre.

            Jazz Forum at SSU is a unique performance/master class designed to expose jazz majors and guests to a wide variety of jazz styles.
