 Rosa\nQuestions\, comments and ideas about the possibility of developing a
  Greenway to Spring Lake are invited at an upcoming Town Hall Meeting and 
 Town Hall Report. The meetings will be facilitated by the American Institu
 te of Architects’ Sustainable Design Assessment Team (SDAT) 7-9pm on Jun
 e 6 and June 8 at the Friedman Event Center in Santa Rosa.\n\nTown Hall Me
 eting: The national SDAT team will invite public input about an area of Sa
 nta   Rosa commonly known as the old Highway 12 right-of-way. Participants
  are asked to bring their ideas and concerns about future uses of this 2-m
 ile long\, 50-acre open space that links Spring  Lake Park and Highway 12 
 at Farmer’s Lane.\n \nTown Hall Report: Led by Wayne Feiden\, planning d
 irector of Northampton\,  MA\,  the SDAT team will present their findings
  and make recommendations during the Town Hall Report. They will incorpora
 te community input from the public as well as from focus groups and interv
 iews with a wide-range of community leaders and decision-makers. Their rep
 ort will give the community a roadmap for moving from idea to implementati
 on.\n\nThe national SDAT team\, funded by the American Institute of Archit
 ects’ Center for Communities by Design\, and also supported by Southeast
  Greenway community match will provide approximately $100\,000 in expertis
 e. These experienced professionals help communities develop a vision and f
 ramework for a sustainable future. Their expertise includes designing comm
 unity greenways\, non-motorized transportation solutions\, urban trails\, 
 open space planning and structuring of successful public-private partnersh
 ips to improve communities.\n\n“The Greenway is one of the largest undev
 eloped parcels of land within Santa Rosa city boundaries\,” said Linda P
 roulx\, co-chair of the Southeast Greenway Campaign. Campaign member Jonat
 han Glass added\, “This open space in the heart of our urban neighborhoo
 ds will provide a much needed place for our kids\, families and all reside
 nts to connect with nature\, plant a garden\, explore a creek\, and find a
  safe route to school or grocery store - all without need for a car.”\nS
